Insonnia
With its roots based in World Music, Insonnia blends Flamenco, Brazilian, Jazz, and New Acoustic music into a melodic and rhythmic sound all its own. Led by versatile guitarist and vocalist Curtis Jones, the group also includes Pete Orenstein on Piano, Organ, and Vocals, and Mark Letalien on Drums. Joining together in the late Spring of 2010 for an impromptu show, these seasoned musicians, with diverse musical backgrounds, soon discovered a unique chemistry which led to the decision to form a musical project. As rehearsals began, the band’s members soon found that although they had indeed come from a varied background, they shared a similar goal: creating innovative, unique and accessible music. Insonnia strives to bring excitement and intensity to everyone of its performances, making no two shows the same. The Spring of 2011 will see the release of their latest album and many shows to follow. Be sure to catch the musical union that is Insonnia!

Curtis Jones A.K.A Cortini has traveled the world for the past 15 years performing his original music, and amazing crowds with his phenomenal guitar playing. Curtis is a very influential guitarist in the world of Bluegrass and New Acoustic music, and has toured and or recorded with some of the biggest names and best artists in the genre. It is impossible to put a label on Curtis’s music, which stems from the fact that he is such a versatile musician with elements of Flamenco, Gypsy, Bluegrass, Jazz, Classical and so much more in his music. Curtis is also a very prolific composer and songwriter, composing around 800 pieces of music to date. Curtis also Composed and performed most of the music heard on the Roland Martin and Orlando Wilson fishing shows on TNN.

Pete Orenstein:Piano, Organ and Vocals

Pete Orenstein started playing piano when he was four years old. His delivery is powerful and dramatic and the strength of his performance and depthful vocal style are accented by strong song writing sensibilities. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, his reserved gaze peeking out from under his bolo hat cannot hide the playful glint in his eyes as he conjures up energetic magic on the piano and the organ. Pete sincerely feels that “Every show has to be better and different than the last. The most important thing is sharing the energy with the crowd—putting out what I feel and getting back the audience’s reaction—seeing in their faces what I had in my mind.” Pete has a book published under Carl Fischer Publishing called “Camp Jam: Rock Solid: Keyboard” available at Amazon.

Mark Letalien: Drums and Percussion
Mark has been performing and teaching for over twenty years. A native of New England, Mark has had the pleasure to study with such noted drum instructors as Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Steve Houghton, and Jim Chapin. Recent playing highlights include performing with Grammy winner Shelby Lynne for her London performances, and being a founding member and performer for four years with Colonel Bruce Hampton and the Quark Alliance.
